Touchstone Checkpoint UNIT 10-12
Exercise 1.
1. Jane is shorter and skinnier than Sonia.
2. Sonia's hair is brighter and shorter than Jane's.
3. Thy both got freckles, but Jane has little freckles.
4. Sonia is wearing gold jewelry.
5. Jane's the one in the black T-shirt, and Sonia's the one in yellow shirt.
6. Sonia's the one has the spiked hair, and Jane's the one has a ponytail.
Exercise 2.
Describing faces: have freckles, has big small eyes/nose, wearing glasses.
Describing hairstyles: have ponytail, spiked hair, big hair, short hair,
Ways of communication: send text message, call back, call, e-mail.

Exercise 3.
Greg: Greg Waters.
Kenji: Hello, Greg. This is Kenji from the office on Tokyo. I was just calling to ask... What time are you arriving tomorrow?

Kenji: OK maybe I should wear a green t shirt. A thing with me name on it so you can find me?
Greg: Good idea.
Exercise 4.
1. When I get home tonight, I'm going to do my English home work and I might wash my hands, but I probably wont eat my lunch.
2. If you want help with your homework this weekend, I'll help you. I'm not busy on Saturday, but I may busy on Sunday.
3. I promise I'll buy all my classmates dinner if I win the lottery this year.
I'll also go gym, and I might exercise too.
4. If i ever become famous, I wont change.
I'll still be myself, and I wont change.

Exercise 1.
Marty: How did you get that black eye? Did you fall or something?
Kevin: Not exactly. I crashed into tree.
Marty: You're kidding! How did that happen?
Kevin: Well, I was riding my little brothers bicycle. And his friends was watching me and laughing at me.
Marty: Why were they laughing? What did you do?
Kevin: I did not do anything. But the bike is kind of small.
Marty: And I bet you tried to look cool, too.
Kevin: I guess. I was looking at the kids behind me. And I didn't see the tree ahead of me. When my brothers shouted, "Watch out" I turned around, but it was too late.
Marty: Oh no! Did you hurt yourself?
Kevin: Well, I did not break anything. I just felt stupid.

Exercise 1.

I'm going to go to the USA.

No, I'm not. I'm not going to go shopping.

4. Did you move from another city?
Yes, I did. I moved to from another city.
5. Where did you go on vacation last year?
I went to the Terelj.
6. What was your favorite subject in school?
The physic was my favorite subject on school.
7. Are there a lot of fun places in your neighborhood?
Yes, I went to the cinema and game centers when I was young.
Exercise 2.
A: Is there a good music store around here?
B: There is a until on the corner of Fifth and Oak.
A: It's one?
B: On Fifth Avenue, and everything, Sixth Avenue, and Oak.
A: Did you say Sixth Avenue? A couple of blocks away?
B: Yeah. They have all kinds of music, and you can watch music videos and do karaoke and everything.
A: You can do what?
B: Karaoke. I went last week. Well, I mean I didn't go inside, but it looks great. Do you want to go?
A: Now? I'm not sure. What time does it close?
B: It doesn't close
A: Oh okay. I can get my grandfather video for his birthday.
B: You buy him music videos? How old is he?
A: Well, he was born in 1945, so how old is that?
B: I don't know. I never could do math.
Exercise 3.
Events you are going to celebrate this year: Children's Day, New Year, My birthday.
Important dates for you: 10th of August my birthday, 28th of August first day of lessons.
Place on town you go often: cinema, school, IT park.
Subjects you're never going to study: biology, geometry.
Exercise 4.

Exercise 1.
Teri: Hi. How are you doing?
Ruth: Not bad.Actually, I have a cold again. But I'm OK.
Teri: Oh, that's too bad. So, what are you doing today?
Ruth: My classmate Sally's here. We are planning an end-of-term party.
Everybody wants some live music this year.
How about you? Are you doing anything special today? Are you listening to a CD?
Teri: No, that is my brother. He plays his guitar. He practices every morning.
Ruth: Hey, is he free on Saturday?
Does he want to play at our party?
We need somebody like him.
Teri: Are you kidding? He is only ten!

1. I hate colds, and I get them a lot. Do you get a lot of colds?
I think I dont get them a lot.
2. Some friends and I go to a jazz club every Monday. Do you want to join us next week?

Oh I have a lot f work so excuse me.
4. My dad wants to paint the house next weekend. Can you help us on painting?
Actually I'm moving to the LA tomorrow and I cant I guess.
5. I love listening to Norah Jones. She's great! Do you like her, too?
Oh, I don't like her. I don't listen to her.
6. I'm reading a book about the material arts. Would you like to borrow it sometime?
Oh, I have already read it, its really interesting book.
